Another Milestone Reached
Another milestone reached in my St Kilda Tweed Project
I’ve just finished weaving a 5‑metre length of tweed — the exact amount my tailor needs to make the jacket that will pair with the waistcoat he’s already working on for me.
This has been an important test for the fold‑up table loom I’ll be taking to St Kilda next year. Because its rollers sit quite close to the table, I wanted to find out the maximum length I could weave on it. As it turns out — and as the photo shows — 5 metres is the absolute limit when using the same yarn I’ll be working with on the island.
A valuable discovery, and another step forward in bringing the St Kilda Tweed to life.
